Patti is an avid traveler, adventure seeker, soul searcher and student. She began her yoga journey while teaching 4th grade, integrating breathing techniques with her students. Her introduction to mindfulness soon became a school wide initiative. She resigned from teaching to start her company, Academic Adventures in Yoga, targeting the many layers of the school district: after school enrichment, professional development workshops for teachers, and the at-risk and neglected populations (i.e. foster care, homeless, incarceration). Patti has completed over 500 hours of Yoga Teacher Training (YTT), is a Registered Children’s Yoga Teacher (RCYT), and a graduate of the Yoga Education Program: Pre K-12th grade. She holds a master’s degree in Management and a Yoga Gangster’s Certificate – teaching yoga to at-risk populations. She teaches at various locations in Tampa, offering Yin, Life Power Flow, Hatha Flow, Bikram and Ashtanga (short form). Her authenticity shines on the mat, and she believes that growth and transformation begin once you step out of your comfort zone.
Jamie first came to the mat in 2005 while seeking an outlet to help her manage stress and injury. Yoga transformed her body and mind and she found inner strength and healing. Feeling the positive effects of yoga on a day to day basis and during pregnancy, Jamie decided to deepen her knowledge and practice of Hatha and asanas. She completed her 200 hour All Levels Vinyasa certification through Lucky Cat Yoga and has a RPYT (prenatal) certification from All You Can Yoga. She provides a supportive and nurturing space for her students and her intention is to help others find the benefits of yoga to fit their needs.
Thanecha is a 32 year old song-writing, guitar-playing, yoga-teaching Tampa Bay resident whose mantra for 2020 is “Just go as far as you can, right now.”
When it comes to yoga and ﬁtness, Thanecha has a deep passion for both, teaching over 20 yoga and group ﬁtness classes per week, and working with a handful of personal clients. She has had the honor of teaching more than one thousand students throughout Tampa Bay, and strives to use her gifts and talents to positively impact the lives of as many people as she possibly can.
Thanecha believes that yoga connects the mind, body, and spirit, and that what you learn on the mat can be taken into every area of your life, and into every experience. In her classes, she creates a space of non-judgement, where you have the freedom to go at your own pace, challenging yourself in every pose, while simultaneously being able to listen to what your body and spirit need in that moment. In each yoga class, she incorporates guided meditation, breathing techniques, Tibetan Bells and a Singing Bowl, and ends the class with live music that is sure to leave you feeling refreshed and more at peace.
Playing a role in the happiness and wellness of our community is immensely important to her, and you can ﬁnd her teaching yoga and group ﬁtness classes at LifeTime Athletic, Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club, and at Crunch locations all over Tampa Bay. Junko MacKie is originally from Japan, she began her lifelong yoga journey while living in Los Angeles. She took her first yoga class in early 2010, and the physical and mental sense of accomplishment she received from each lesson drove her to become a dedicated yogini.
She completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2012 with the Mukti Yoga School in Manhattan Beach, CA, and earned her 500 hour certificate with them in 2015. Additionally, she spent three months in India studying traditional yoga practices, earning a separate and additional 500 hour training certificate in Rishikesh, India. In the spring of 2017, she earned the certification of KRI Level 1, 220 hours Kundalini Yoga teacher training.
In late 2018, Junko became a mother. Her experience with pregnancy and delivery motivated her to support women via yoga. She completed Prenatal Yoga teacher training with All You Can Yoga in Tampa, FL in 2019. Her style is best categorized as Vinyasa Flow, and her experience in India has allowed her to incorporate traditional features into her lessons. Additionally, she specializes in Yin Yoga, Prenatal Yoga, Kundalini Yoga, and works to incorporate spirituality with each of her courses. Michelle Cook is a certified yoga instructor, health coach and personal trainer. She is registered at the highest level with the Yoga Alliance and teaches in the Iyengar tradition with over 15 years of experience. Michelle has also successfully completed the Prime Time Health Certification Course with the prestigious Dr. Sears Wellness Institute.
Michelle is an entrepreneur who founded and operated two thriving businesses. The first, Synergy Personal Fitness, where she coached both elite athletes and the general public to achieve optimum health and fitness. The second, Sun Dog Yoga, the first yoga studio in Tampa dedicated exclusively to Iyengar yoga, offering daily group classes, private instruction and workshops. She has organized and conducted intensives workshops and retreats around the country.
Michelle currently offers one group class weekly in downtown Tampa, one Mama and Me class at Baby Scene and privately coaches clients in yoga, wellness and life design. She is a seasoned conference presenter and enjoys working with individuals, as well as corporate and philanthropic groups, helping them envision and achieve their goals. Michelle loves to cook, entertain, spend time with her family and work on creative projects
Amee Joshi, DO, E-RYT 230 has a passion for the health and well-being of women. As a family practice physician, she enjoys the role of guiding women towards their optimal health. In 2009 she completed her yoga teacher training with the Asheville School of Yoga. She continued her education as a yoga teacher and completed her Prenatal Yoga certification in 2010 with the Asheville School of Yoga. Amee subsequently completed an 85 hour Prenatal Teacher training with Illuminated Living in 2016.
Amee has felt an incredible call to nurture and empower mothers. She believes nothing is more important than supporting mothers for the highest good of our society. Yoga is a perfect way to prepare for the physical and mental changes endured in pregnancy, labor and delivery and motherhood.
She sees yoga as a time to nourish, nurture and heal oneself during the challenges and joys motherhood brings. With Amee’s background in Medicine and Dance she weaves an eclectic blend of styles into her offerings. Her teaching style ranges from deeply restorative and yin to strong vinyasa and incorporates music, literature and guided meditations in her classes.
Esmeralda Guevara is Baby Scene’s chief massage therapist. In addition to massage, Esmeralda found her second love in Yoga and received her 200 hour certiﬁcation from Lucky Cat Yoga in 2017. She has been teaching restorative yoga, meditation, breath work, YoMassage and sound healing through the use of her beautiful crystal bowls. She received her health coach certiﬁcation in 2017.
Esmeralda values holding space and educating her clients on their body. She believes we all contain the innate ability to heal. She uses an intuitive approach to create the ideal environment for your body to unwind naturally.
Jessica Freedman is a graduate of the University of Tampa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. In 2006 shortly after graduating, she completed her first 200 hour yoga teacher training and prenatal yoga training. In 2011, she finished an additional 200 hour “Prana Flow” yoga training while pregnant with her first child, deepening her love for this quiet yet strong practice.
Over the last 13 years, she has guided hundreds of women through prenatal yoga practices and was blessed to be able to teach during the full duration of both her pregnancies. She feels lucky to have shared all the wonderful aspects of pregnancy and yoga with mother tribes all over the country.
During both her pregnancies she was under the care of several amazing women with a combined 50+ years in the pregnancy and birthing field. These women included doulas, acupuncture physicians, naturopathic physicians, midwives, and obstetricians. She had the immense honor and pleasure of being taught the knowledge of these wise women on all things relating to natural and holistic pregnancy and birthing.
Over the past few years through her prenatal teachings, she’s seen a rise in the need/desire for postpartum healing through yoga and mindful movement. Jessica began her own postpartum healing just after the birth of her daughter in 2013. She combines techniques taught to her by experts in the fields of postpartum health and healing, along with her 13 years of teaching yoga and fitness experience to bring a loving, balanced approach to postpartum recovery.
